American Heritage: Rich Images from the American Experience
Larry Christensen
Utah artist, L. Christensen is May’s featured artist. Capturing gestures in natural poses is the first level of communication in his oils. A style described as Neo-Regionalism, his loose brushwork & rich color palette evoke a sense of treasured, but distant memories.
The honest & engaging style has made Christensen a much sought after artist. His images reflect a rich American Heritage where individuals possess a physical & moral strength, respect for nature & sense of community.

June 1st, First Friday - Egyptian Roots - Lathe & Chisel
First Fridays at CFA!
Opening Reception: 6-9 p.m.
North Carolina artist, Charles Farrar is June's Featured artist. Each piece is a sculptural beauty and stands alone in its simplicity and grace. Farrar uses properties of wood to create traditional and non-traditional vessels with finely finished surfaces. Using a lathe and carving tools, Charles creates hammered, smooth, scalloped edge, and at times, inlay of metals to create one-of-a-kind works of art. His work can also be found as part of the White House collection.
