Gustaaf van Soestbergen - Oil
G. van Soestbergen has developed a technique applying oil-based enamels in a manner such that the colors combine to create a visual experience that encourages the mind to wander and search within the artwork. Letting the paint do the work, the artist applies it in a manner that sometimes it mixes and sometimes it layers and usually it does a bit of both.

Always striving to evoke a sense of depth and balance, he creates spatial and perceptual symmetry with a progression of color. Expressing the forces of nature in his use of primary colors and portraying the light in dark with his black and white works.

The artist's greatest influences in art are Matisse, Pollock and Herring.
