Living on a small farm in Southeastern Idaho, Christensen worked closely with his father and grandfather where they raised cows, chickens, pigs and sheep. Christensen started drawing at a very young age and drew what was familiar - his surroundings.

Observing the structure and mannerisms of animals around him, you will find horses, cows and sheep throughout many of his works.
