"Trees get sawed down in the late spring to prep for the next year after this one, so they need to be dried out and sunned on before you can split them for firewood. Here an old tree lies jumbled about getting dry even in the winter snow so as to be ready for the coming year. I liked the accidental sculptural quality of it all – not boring nicely laid parallel log lines, but this sort of fallen Acropolis columns look to the log sections."
